I decided to take a look at
his website copy... at first I thought I was getting a fast
sales pitch but as I kept reading... I kept nodding
because everything he says was exactly how I feel and
understand about getting lean and healthy.
So I bit the bullet and
purchased a copy so that I can review it for my readers as well
as see if I can learn anything from him.
And boy... Mike doesn't hold
anything back!
First of all... he says that
if your goal is to get a lean and healthy body and keep it for
the rest of your life... then his book is going to help you. It
is a big promise... that's for sure! And Mike backs it up with
a 60 day guarantee.
And if you look at it this
way... about 70% of the adult population is overweight or
obese... a BIG problem. But Mike emphasizes that it doesn't
matter whether you are 20 years old or even 70 years old...
human physiology is still the same. If you follow the right
nutritional plan, perform the ab workouts as well as the full
body workouts... you are going to see some changes.
And forget all the fat
myths... Mike blows most of them out of the water in the
back of his book in the FAQs.

The first thing I did after I
downloaded The Truth About Six Pack Abs was to also download
the bonus metabolic calculator which is a MS Excel spreadsheet
designed by Mike (its free and comes with the book). It is very
simple to use. All you have to do is input some information and
the calculator will give you an estimate what your daily
calories should be.
Mike also emphasizes on
nutrition and total body workouts which I absolutely agree with
here.
Think about it this way, if
you did any abdominal workouts in the past... you already have
a six pack abs. But you can't see it because there is a excess
layer of fat covering it.
This is where good nutrition
and fat blasting body workouts comes in.
And Mike covers both to great
details.
His book has 84 detailed meal
ideas so eating shouldn't be boring or bland. I used the
information from the metabolic calculator to figure out the
size of my meals. It's pretty easy!
The next section covers the
abdominal workouts. There are a lot of them and I tried most of
them. Oh man... they are tough and they really work your abs. My
favorite however, was the renegade dumbbell workouts which Mike
calls his "secret weapon."
But
the most suprising thing about the abdominal workouts is Mike
said will only take 5-8 minutes of your total workout time.
And he is right! His workouts are so intense that your
abs feel like they are on fire. Best of all... no situps and no
leg raises!
The last part of the book
covers all the fat burning total body workouts. And Mike tells
you which exercises to avoid because they are inefficient and
are a waste of time. And you don't have to spend 1-2
hours of cardio workouts each day... Mike said they don't work
and just waste your time...
Also, Mike lists more than
enough exercises to pick and choose the ones you like. They can
by gym based workouts, home workouts and even bodyweight
workouts.
He said it doesn't matter
which ones you choose because they are all effective. Me for
instance, I like bodyweight exercises and dumbbell exercises
that I can do at the privacy of my home.
All in all... if you are
going to get a ab book this year... make it Michael Geary's
ebook, The Truth About Six Pack Abs. It
was absolutely money well spent for me.
